Birds of a feather...Fizz and his fish

The other day I saw the pilot episode of Dharma and Greg where Dharma introduces her dog Nunzio and Nunzio's dog Stinky. I think I understand that concept.
We have a parakeet by the name of Fizz who lives in his cage in the mudroom. As soon as we put him there, we moved our goldfish PM into a tall clear cylinder vase next to the cage. It's just easier for me to have all the pet stuff in one place, so I've kept them next to eachother on the shelves where they get a good view of the backyard. I'm starting to believe that PM is no longer our fish--he belongs to Fizz. Fizz loves to watch PM swim around in circles, and when I move the vase to clean it out, Fizz gets really noisy. I think he's alarmed that I've taken his friend away and he chirps the entire time I'm cleaning up until I return PM to his place by Fizz's cage. Then Fizz hops down to the bottom of the cage, checking things out through the bars to be sure I haven't done any permanent damage to his beloved fish. It's really very amusing.
When PM finally passes on, I'll be midly concerned about my kids' reaction and more worried about Fizz's loss.

I love that Dharma and Greg. Don't you love reruns?

I hear you exactly. See there was this girl that was having a hard time not being out of the work force since she had her little girl. She started hanging out with her sister, who also had a fairly new baby, and before you knew it, they were running every possible errand together. They became great friends and looked out for eachother. Well then the time came that this friend needed to move on with her life. Even though this girl knew it was best for her friend, she has never fully recovered since having her friend gone. Oh sure she fakes it pretty well and calls this friend and it is just like old times. But there are always those days where she squaks and moaps and screams at everyone because she wonders how her friend is really doing and misses her greatly and wonders why they will proably never get to run all their errands together ever again. Growing up sucks!
