It's just not fair!

I like to think I have well-behaved boys, but days like today make me think otherwise. This morning I have endured shouting, throwing pillows, crying, "attitude" and a fair amount of whining.

"There's nothing fun to do!"
"I haven't done anything fun this week!"
"It's not fair!"
"Do I have to do my work?"
"What is there that I would like to do that's fun without doing my work?"

I think I will haul them out into the yard to pull weeds, rake leaves and dig. Each time I hear objections to picking up toys and clothes, I am inclined to enforce hard labor. Unfortunately it smacks of "You wanna cry about it? I'll give you something to cry about!" I so want to remind them that children in third world countries are not complaining about having to clean up their rooms before playing Game Cube.

That's it!!! During this one post alone I've gotten to my wits end with the background music of whining. We're off to the yard!
