Small favors that make a big difference

Yesterday my son told me that an assignment his teacher gave him was the wrong assignment. She mistakenly handed out the 8th grade word list to the 9th graders, so she decided to count it as extra credit. His teacher told him that he had gotten 500% on the assignment. So I looked on the parent website where I can check his assignments and grades, and in this class he is getting an A! Granted, the quarter only started two weeks ago, but it made me so happy to see a vertical line of
A
A
A
A
A
all the way down the list of classes. It's a small thing, and may be temporary, but it makes me smile.

The second small favor that makes a big difference comes from all of you.
My dear friend and co-worker is a doula, and today she is assisting in the birth of her niece. This niece has had two children previously, and both births were attended by my friend and the niece's mother, who is my friend's sister.

Confused?
Doula=my friend and co-worker
Birth Mom=friend's niece who is having baby #3
Mother=my friend's sister and Birth Mom's mother

So, Doula is heading up to attend the birth, and it is going to be very difficult because Mother has passed away, and both Birth Mom and Doula miss her terribly. Mother was the comic relief in the stress of the birth process for the past two births, and her absence will be felt deeply.
I strongly believe in the power of prayer, so I ask that as a small favor, you say a prayer for Doula, Birth Mom and the baby. Once you check my blog and read this, the baby may already be here, but please say a prayer anyhow. Prayer is retro-active. Because God works on a different time frame, your prayer two days later will count for right now as Birth Mom is in labor. My kid could explain it better than I could--time/space continuum or some such thing. I just call it miracles.

Another small favor that makes a big difference:
A conversation with a handsome man this morning put me in a very nice mood.
There is always hope.

Prayer is retroactive? Wow. I didn't know that, but anything for you and your friends.
