A bunch of mini entries

Life's tough:
Sometimes you have to do what you don't want to do. Often you just do something because it's the right thing, even if you hate the idea of doing it. If you are lucky, what you want to do and what you have to do are the same thing, but I've found that isn't usually the case. There comes a point where you have to stop kicking and screaming, be an adult, and just do it.
What I'm reading:
Herland by Charlotte Perkins Stetson Gilman (say that five times fast!)
Malcolm in the Middle:
I have only recently discovered this show. I've seen a few episodes and I think it's usually very funny. Each time my husband watches it with me, he doesn't seem to get it. Tonight he said, "I think I don't find humor in this because it hits too close to home for me." That's scary! I hope he was talking about the family he grew up in....
Pay it forward:
Today I had a friend come over and try on a bunch of the clothes I decided to give away. It was so fun to see her excited over clothes I have loved through the years. She'd hold up a skirt and I'd tell her "That was my favorite--I wore it every day for a whole summer." Then she'd ask me why I was giving it away if I loved it so much. Sometimes you just have to move on.
Little blood vessels searching for oxygen:
Apparently, because I wear extended-wear contact lenses, my eyeballs haven't been getting enough oxygen. I have blood vessels forming around my ?cornea?-?retina?- (something) that indicates they need more air. I've ordered a new pair of glasses so I can give my eyeballs a bit of a rest and let them "breathe".
I LOVE LAVENDER!:
Speaking of breathing, last night I took a long soak in hot water with lavender oil. I just laid in the tub taking deeeeeeeeep breaths. How relaxing!! I think doctors should prescribe lavender baths and give out lifetime supplies of good lavender oil to everyone who becomes a parent.
Quote of the day:
Joseph Smith, Jr:
Whatever God requires is right, though we may not know the reason until much later.
