You get what you get

There are so many things I want to say to my loyal fans (devoted friends) who have begged me to blog so they know what is going on in my life. Here is what first sprang to mind: "The truth??? You can't handle the truth!!"
Really people, you don't want to know what is going on. I used to subtitle my blog "a little about what is going on in my life." I don't want to blog about what is going on in my life and frankly, my dear, you don't want to hear it.
Don't protest, I mean it.
What you really want to hear are the anecdotes. You want the funny stuff that falls into the lap of my life. You want, to borrow from The Princess Bride, the "good parts" version.
Do you see the difference?
So I have retitled my blog to express how I feel about telling you about my life. I'm going to blog about the funny and the strange, and if you don't like what I post, don't bug me for posts.
When I was young there was a large peach tree outside my bedroom window. I remember one year that I looked out and saw the perfect peach and I asked my Mom if I could have it. She told me it wasn't ripe yet, but promised that one day the peach would be mine. Each day I checked out the window to assess the peach's ripeness. When the big day finally came and Mom said the peach was ready, we went to the side of the house to pick my perfect peach. Once we got to the tree and located the peach, we discovered that my beautiful peach, while perfect on the side that faced the window, had been pecked at and had started rotting on the side unseen from the window.
You get what you get in this life. On that day, I got the good half of a peach.

May you start getting the good half of the peach instead of the rotting half you have been getting! Love you!

So glad to hear ANYthing from you. You are the best, and have an amazingly good attitude, dispite getting your share of pecked peaches.

Great analogy. I could almost hear President Monson telling it. :o) I love how you write, and can't wait to see more!
