Yet another post about my boys...
I saw them sitting together on the swing in the backyard today and was once again hit with the idea that anyone walking by would not know they are brothers. Although our pediatrician told me that they interact with eachother like twins, they often seem to be from different planets. As they were swinging, I took inventory.
Sam: Long sleeved black shirt with a dragon on the front, long pants with many pockets, socks, black shoes he's outgrown but loves to wear (so I've decided to let it go until the last day of school when I will burn them), watch on his left wrist over the cuff of his sleeve, orca mood necklace, copper ring, shaggy hair.
Jesse: No shirt, blue denim shorts, flip-flops, mood ring and smooth blonde hair.
It's a strange goth/surfer mix on my swing.

I missed the comment on popcorn and Jr. Mints at church - where was that? My personal church treat nightmare was the "brilliant" idea of taking Ritz crackers. Disastrous.
Your cute post about your cute goth-boy and surfer-boy reminds me of my girls. Church outfits today: Dorothy wearing a long khaki skirt, clunky-ish sandals, a denim top over a white t-shirt and her beloved red, blue and yellow watch. (Oh, and no doo-dads in her hair.) Amelia was in the pinkest, frilliest dress she could talk me into buying with butterfly shoes (don't ask) and after much deliberation decided on "flowing hair with a hairband." (The other options were a bun, fancy braids or sparkly clips.) But they like each other any way!
My girls are the same way. Megan's usual comment on Sunday is "Why do I have to wear a dress--and DON'T CURL MY HAIR!", While I have to tell Natalie that no, I don't think I have time to do a fancy bun, nor do I really know how, and isn't that a pretty dress. Jenna is somewhere in between, kind of neutral about her like/dislike of fancy (thank goodness). Cole just somehow always seems to look like a slob, no matter how many times I comb his hair or ask him to please tuck in his shirt. Kids--gotta love 'em!
Tommy is now into Izod shirts with the collar "popped". He usually wears one with 501's and deck shoes with no socks, he looks like he is living in 1986. Simon's favorite shirt is an old ratty shirt that belonged to Tommy (when HE was in the 3rd grade. Simon has also been know to "go commando" or wear two pairs of underwear at one time!
