Rain, rain--GO AWAY!!!!!

It's incredible how many ways the weather man can tell us we have rain. I guess because we get so much of it, they decided to spice things up by using different terms. Our weather reports say things like:
Rain changing to showers
Light drizzle
Breezy showers with rain developing
Precipitation
Rain, rainfall
Wind driven rain this morning with a steady, soaking rain developing
"It's wet out there"

I don't mind the rain all that much, it's what the rain does that I don't appreciate.
Rain makes mud, which finds it's way into my house everyday now.
Rain makes it difficult to pick up dog poop in the yard--not that you'll get wet, but that wet dog poop is harder to pick up.
Rain makes the storm drains flood and creates huge lakes in the streets.
Rain makes huge lakes on school playgrounds as well, and recess monitors don't really monitor much.
Yes, rain makes the flowers grow, but I'm not seeing any flowers in my flooded flower beds.
I just want a bit of sunshine! I did get a few hours of it yesterday. Well, it was *almost* sun. The rain stopped for a minute and it got lighter.
Supposedly we have sun coming in the forecast--NEXT WEEK!!
Time to build an ark....
