I'm planning a trip to IKEA. Not that this sort of thing needs a lot of planning, but IKEA is not on my way to anything, and I usually wait until I have 3 or 4 things to get from there before I go. I also try to plan a trip with the kids because they love Swedish meatballs and the take home IKEA cups.
I know I need to get a cheese grater for my sister. It seems that each time I go to IKEA I'm getting a cheese grater for someone, because I've convinced myself that they are the greatest thing since sliced bread, and I just *KNOW* you want one too.
I also like to check out the newest baby stuff they have, because I seem to always have someone near-and-dear who is having a baby, and I like to give some cute toy or eating things.
I also need a different comforter/quilt. The one we have does a great job of keeping us warm--almost too good of a job. It seems we are all snuggly and warm when we get into bed, and as the night goes on we throw the covers off because it's too hot. Actually, maybe that's just me. I've been having hot flashes and night sweats--I know this because some mornings I wake up without my pajama shirt on, and my hubby swears he isn't doing it. For awhile I didn't believe him and thought he was playing a joke on me until one night I woke up panting and ripping my clothes off with a small puddle of perspiration on my chest. Then I realized it was Mother Nature who was playing a joke on me--a cruel joke. Anyway, I'm hoping to find the more lightweight version of the comforter we have to help solve the problem. That and hormone therapy.
But I have to limit my time at IKEA or I start to stock-pile things that I just might need a few more of later on down the road when IKEA is too far away, so I'd better get them all right now. Because you just don't know when yours might get lost or need replacing.
For instance, the Fluffig. They don't sell them at IKEA online (no hyperlink, sorry), but I need one every so often. My first one needed replacing after my kids used it to mix their own kind of "perfume" and I couldn't get the stench out of it. Plus I give them as gifts every once in awhile because, let's face it, not many people already have their own Fluffig. And if they do, they can always use another one in a different color!
You see, I get easily carried away at IKEA. That's why I can't go too often. If I went more often we'd be living in the gutter---well, in the gutter with really great IKEA stuff.

Wow, what a cool cheese grater. And you can learn Norwegian at the same time, right?
Well, personally, I LOVE the cheese grater you gave me for my birthday. And the Fluffig. So, you're right on the money there.
And I think you have to do "vicarious" shopping for all of us without an IKEA nearby, but who dearly dearly long for one and whose prayers have been answered because IKEA found us here in Utah and there will *soon* be an IKEA in Draper. Amen.
What is a Fluffig? I must know! And do I want one??
What is a fluffig? Only the greatest ever invention with a great name, because as you are fluffy-ing your pseudo-at-home-made-steamed milk (yes it means you're voluntarily drinking milk without cereal in in) as you make your milk more frothy, it makes the sound "fluu-ffigg, fluu-ffigg, fluu-ffigg." Call me if you would like the audio track to go along with this.
Hubbster
always says "Remember IKEA is not better than church!"
I guess that all depends what church you belong to. IKEA is DEFINITELY better than some churches! And I have never been to IKEA.
