I love this lady!!!

I have a friend who has a brain tumor. I know. It's a scary set of words to put together and it makes your heart jump a little. She called me tonight to see how I am doing.
She's going through radiation therapy and she's making the most of it. The other day when she arrived for her treatment with yet another person driving her, the nurses who see her far too often stated how lucky she is to have so many great friends. She told the nurses that the people who chauffeur her aren't really her friends, they are ex-cons who have to drive her as part of their parole service commitment. Her daughter accuses her of bragging about her tumor to get food from her neighbors. She jokes that when she wants a discount or special treatment at a restaurant or store she plays the brain tumor card because, come on, who's going to say "no" to someone with a brain tumor? I told her she should try to get away with much more than she does. She's thinking of trying out Turret's Syndrome behaviors and blaming them on the tumor.
She tells me that she can either laugh hysterically about it or cry herself into a depression. Ultimately, her attitude is her choice. I so admire her. I wish I could spend more time with her. It would be great to have her around more to let her humor and optimism rub off on me. And because my problems don't get me discounts.

One of my ptsa ladies just found out she has breast cancer. She is so positive and knows she is going to beat this. I am so impressed with her positive attitude and wish I could think happy thoughts all the time like her.

Hello? Oh, I was looking for Michelle.

Hello?

Ok, I'll have to try back later.

Could you give her the message that we miss her, and she should try blogging every once in a while?

Anyone?
